If you just want to get started by taking text notes in Capacities, start with the page object type. It's all set up for you, all you need to do is start writing!
Built-in properties
You might want to add a bit of color or organisation to your notes. You can do that with the built in properties:
If you want to add your own properties, you'll need to create a custom object type and then convert your pages to be the new object type with bulk actions.
