Migrate from Evernote in structured batches: model first, then converted files.
Important: Raw Evernote exports (ENEX or HTML) do not import directly into Capacities Bulk Import.
You must convert them to Markdown + media first.
For general import docs, see:
ENEX recommended).Raw ENEX/HTML files do not import directly into Capacities. You must convert them to Markdown + media first.
Evernote is notebook-first. Capacities is object-type-first.
Your migration will be cleaner if you first decide what each notebook should become as an object type (or as Pages).
If you want a deeper explanation of this shift, read Understanding the paradigm shift.
Create key object types first (People, Projects, Meetings, etc.), then add core properties.
Look at your notebooks and group notes into clear noun-based buckets first (for example People, Projects, Meetings).
Then mirror those groups in Capacities by creating matching object types before import.
For mixed or non-noun notebooks (Inbox, Planning, etc.), either:
Use Evernote desktop export.
Meetings-2024-batch-01)Start with ENEX. Use HTML only as fallback for problematic batches.
Remember: ENEX/HTML are export formats, not direct Capacities import formats.
Capacities bulk import expects Markdown/CSV/ZIP/media, so Evernote exports need conversion first.
Before import:
In Capacities, go to Settings > Migrate from another tool > Click the spanner icon, then upload your converted folders.
Before importing:
Then click Analyse, review, and click Import. Keep Capacities open until import completes.
