How do I turn text or blocks into a new object?
Desktop and web
- Select the block(s) you want to convert.
- Click Turn into and choose the object type.
- The selected text becomes the title of the new object. Indented child blocks become content in that object.
The original text is replaced with a link to the new object.
Mobile
There is no Turn into button on mobile. Type # at the end of a block, then choose the object type to turn that block into a new object.
Change object type on mobile
To change what type an existing object is (for example, a page into a custom type):
- Open the object.
- Tap the object type label next to the title.
- Choose the type you want.
- Confirm property mapping if Capacities asks, then tap Change type.
Daily Notes cannot change type on mobile. See Change object type.
Tags, PDFs, and images cannot be turned into a different object type.
