Yes, you can model different relationship types by creating properties for them and linking from those properties.
For example, if you want links like "influences", "depends on", or "worked with", create properties with those names on your object type and add your links there.
Use a text property if you want the most flexible setup, especially if the linked objects could be different types. Use an object select property if you want a dropdown that points to one specific object type, such as a Person.
If you zoom into the graph view, the property name will appear as the label of the connection between the linked objects.
